At about 8 pm on March 20, during a patrol in Thanh Son 7 area (Uong Bi ward), Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department of Traffic Police) discovered a young man driving a motorbike with suspicious signs.
Upon inspection, functional forces discovered that the subject was hiding 8 packages of white crystals (total weight 5.849 grams) and 8 yellow tablets (3.856 grams).
The subject is B.D. D (born 1997, residing in Uong Bi ward) confessed that the crystals were ketamine, and the pills were ecstasy.
The working group has made initial records, handed over people, exhibits and vehicles to Uong Bi Ward Police for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
Previously, on March 19, 2026, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police initiated a case and prosecuted defendant Dang Dinh Vinh (born 1981, residing in Cam Pha ward) for the crime of "Illegal use of narcotics".
The subject was discovered using illegal drugs on the evening of March 10, 2026 in Minh Khai area (Cam Pha ward).
Through verification, Vinh has 1 previous conviction for the crime of "Illegally trading drugs", has been subjected to compulsory detoxification measures twice and is undergoing post-detoxification management in the locality.
On March 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police also prosecuted the case, prosecuted the defendant, and temporarily detained Bui Tung Lam for the act of "Organizing the illegal use of narcotics"; and at the same time prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Duc Ngoc for the act of "Illegally trading narcotics".
Previously, on March 1, Ha Lam Ward Police discovered a case of organizing the use and illegal trading of drugs.
Through inspection and testing, Bui Tung Lam (born 2001, residing in Ha Lam ward) tested positive for Methamphetamine and MDMA.
During interrogation, Lam confessed that on February 26, 2026, he and Tran Dinh Trong (born 1997, residing in Bai Chay ward) and Le Van Toan (born 2000, residing in Hong Gai ward) organized the illegal use of drugs in the Cienco 5 coastal area (Hong Gai ward).
The drugs were sold by Nguyen Duc Ngoc (born 1999, residing in Ha Lam ward) to Lam.
Currently, the cases are being further investigated and handled by functional agencies according to regulations.
