On the evening of April 25, inter-sectoral forces including the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Site Management Board and the Inland Waterway Port Authority of Region I organized inspection and supervision of tourist accommodation ships staying overnight in Ha Long Bay.
Through inspection, the working group discovered that some vehicles violated regulations on mooring, including cases of mooring in the wrong licensed location, posing a potential risk of waterway traffic unsafety and affecting the management of overnight accommodation areas.
The inspection team made a record, requesting the violating captains to urgently rectify and handle according to legal regulations.
Recurring cases or intentional violations will be suspended from operation to ensure general discipline and safety in Ha Long Bay.
The inspection activity is being implemented in the context of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee directing to tighten the work of ensuring the safety of tourist boats after a number of recent incidents; requesting departments, branches and functional forces to conduct a general inspection and comprehensive review of technical safety conditions, fire prevention and fighting and tourist boat operations, to prevent unsafety, especially during the peak tourist season.
