On the afternoon of March 11, Phu Trach Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that the bodies of 2 local fishermen who lost contact while fishing at sea had been found.
The 2 victims include Mr. L.N. S (born 1973) and Mr. P.V. K (born 1972), both residing in Phu Trach commune.
According to Phu Trach Commune People's Committee, the bodies of the victims were discovered drifting ashore in Quang Ngai province on March 10. After receiving the information, relatives came to identify and take the victims to the locality for funeral arrangements.
Currently, the whereabouts of the ship that the 2 fishermen used to go to sea have not been determined.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 8 am on March 6, Mr. Le Hoai Nam (born 1994, residing in Hai Dong village, Phu Trach commune) reported that fishing vessel numbered QB 93827-TS owned and captained by Mr. L.N. S (born 1973) suddenly lost contact.
On board at that time were Mr. L.N. S and Mr. P.V. K (born 1972), both residing in Hai Dong village, Phu Trach commune.
While operating at sea in the coordinates 16°23'41"N - 108°32'05"E, about 19 nautical miles northeast of Son Tra peninsula, the family could not contact the crew members.
Through checking the journey monitoring device, the signal of fishing vessel QB 93827-TS lost connection from 11:05 PM on March 5, 2026.
According to the report of Mr. Le Hoai Nam, son of Mr. L.N. S, previously when leaving the port to go to sea, there were 4 people on board including: Mr. L.N. S (ship owner cum captain), Mr. Le Manh Cuong (born 2004, chief engineer), Mr. P.V. K (captain) and Mr. Le Hoai Nam (captain).
After completing departure procedures at La Port on February 25, 2026, Mr. Le Manh Cuong and Mr. Le Hoai Nam returned home, while Mr. L.N. S and Mr. P.V. K continued their seafood exploitation journey at sea.
