On the evening of March 12, Con Co Island Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) said that the body of a fisherman had just been discovered in the area after many days of being missing at sea.
On the same afternoon, Mr. Le Van Tan (born in 1983, residing in Con Co island district, Quang Tri province) while fishing along the coast of Con Co island discovered a body drifting about 10m from shore.
Through verification, the victim is fisherman Nguyen Cong Hai (born in 1978, from Cua Viet town, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) - who went missing at 5:50 p.m.
on March 2, 2025 while fishing at sea.
Currently, the authorities are coordinating with the local authorities to complete the procedures according to the law, and at the same time hand over the body to the family to bring to the shore for burial according to customs.
