On the afternoon of September 24, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward People's Committee (Vinh City, Nghe An) said that local residents discovered a mother letting her newborn baby float on Vinh River.
Accordingly, at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, people discovered a woman putting a newborn baby in a styrofoam box and letting it float on the Vinh River, through Tan Hoa block (Vinh Tan ward). Discovering the incident, people rowed a boat out to rescue the baby and brought him to shore safely.
Upon receiving the report, Vinh Tan Ward Police arrived at the scene to verify and work with the mother to clarify the incident.
Initial investigation shows that this mother resides in Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An).
It is known that in the afternoon of the same day, the mother brought the newborn baby home from Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. When arriving at the Vinh River area, the mother put the baby in a styrofoam box and let it float on the river.
The baby has been taken to Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for care, and his health indicators are normal.
