On December 24, the Economic Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to discover a case of transporting tiger snake carrying a total weight of nearly 1,000kg.
Previously, at 1:00 p.m. on December 18, the Economic Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Lao Bao Commune Police and Lao Bao International Border Guard Station to patrol and inspect National Highway 9, through Tay Chin village, Lao Bao commune.
Here, the authorities discovered a THACO passenger car with license plate 74F-00.126 parked on the side of the road with suspicious signs, so they conducted an inspection.
Through inspection, the authorities identified Mr. M.V.B (born in 1984, residing in Quarter 9, Nam Dong Ha Ward, Quang Tri Province) as the driver and Mr. N.D.K (born in 2005, residing in Dong An residential group, Phong An Ward, Hue City) as the bus conductor, loading and unloading 112 packages.
Inside the packages were 676 tiger snake carp (a type of one-eyed snake) with a total weight of 924.2kg. All of the goods did not have documents proving their legal origin.

Expanding the investigation, the authorities determined that the tiger snake was of Ms. H.T.N (born in 1991, residing in Ka Tang village, Lao Bao commune), transported from Laos to Vietnam via unofficial route. During the process of hiring Mr. MVB and Mr. N.D.K to transport, they were discovered and arrested by the authorities.
The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities according to the provisions of law.
