On the afternoon of September 13, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and the Central working delegation inspected and directed the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; encouraged people affected by floods in Hung Ha, Vu Thu and Kien Xuong districts (Thai Binh province).
Storm No. 3 and its circulation caused rain combined with water flow from upstream, causing the water level in the Thai Binh river system to rise. Due to the impact of heavy rain and slow drainage, about 10,000 hectares of winter-spring rice were flooded; many residential areas outside the main dike were flooded; some dykes, embankments, and banks in the province were overflowed.
In response to the complicated developments of flood warnings on rivers, localities in the province have organized the evacuation of about 1,776 households/5,060 people living in the dike area to safe shelters. Thai Binh has mobilized the entire political system, armed forces and the entire population to respond to and overcome the consequences of storms and floods. Thanks to that, Thai Binh has no human losses, and fishermen's boats and vehicles are safe. The transportation system, power grid and telecommunications systems have been restored soon.
Directly inspecting the actual flood response work and visiting the lives of people in Hong An commune (Hung Ha district), Tu Tan commune (Vu Thu district) and Minh Tan commune (Kien Xuong district), Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh shared the damage caused by storms and floods to the people, hoping that people will overcome difficulties to soon stabilize their lives.

Faced with complicated weather developments, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh requested Thai Binh province to continue to seriously implement the Central Government's directives on disaster prevention and control and search and rescue; continue to respond to floods on rivers, organize patrols and guard to protect the safety of dykes in the area according to the "4 on-site" motto; closely monitor weather developments, floods, proactively direct and deploy response work, ensure urgency, timeliness and effectiveness; absolutely do not be subjective or negligent in disaster prevention and control work.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that at this time, the province must focus highly and mobilize all resources to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, and soon bring all social activities back to normal.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Binh province Nguyen Tien Thanh presented support to Hong An, Tan Lap and Minh Tan communes to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3; presented gifts to the forces on duty at the dike guard points and presented gifts to households affected by storms and floods in the above localities.
