Attending the opening ceremony, on the Central side were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang; Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Thai Thanh Quy; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Da Nang Economic, Financial and Technology Week 2026 (in the framework of the High-Level Policy Dialogue Conference with the theme "New Growth Model - Innovation - Global City"), Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang assessed that Vietnam is facing the requirement of faster, more sustainable and more autonomous development in the new period.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, to achieve high growth targets, the economy cannot only rely on traditional drivers but must optimize them, while creating new drivers based on technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation and modern finance.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "The Government determines that it is necessary to form new development spaces, new testing mechanisms (sandboxes) and new growth poles. We need localities that are dynamic enough, determined enough and capable enough to take the lead in implementing new models. From there, both create development momentum for the locality itself and contribute practical experience to improve institutions and policies at the national level.
Da Nang, with its strategic position in the Central region and the orientation to build the International Finance Center (IFC), Free Trade Zone, and high-class logistics services, is having a great opportunity to take on this pioneering role.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang noted: "Big opportunities always come with big challenges. To become a new growth pole, Da Nang not only needs good vision but also needs good implementation capacity; not only needs large projects but also needs an efficient operating mechanism; not only needs to attract large capital but also needs to attract high-quality capital, technology, knowledge, talent and partners with long-term companionship.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the initiative to organize the Economic, Financial and Technology Week of Da Nang city. This is not simply an investment promotion or local image promotion activity, but truly a multi-dimensional connection forum between policies, finance, technology and the international academic community. He expressed his expectation that this policy dialogue conference will not stop at exchanging ideas, but must create substantive results: valuable policy recommendations, suggestions on financial products, data infrastructure and feasible organizational models for practical application.
To support Da Nang to break through, the Deputy Prime Minister requested central ministries and sectors to continue to closely accompany the city in implementing specific mechanisms and policies; proactively coordinate to remove bottlenecks in institutions, planning, infrastructure and human resources.
