The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project is divided into two component projects.
Component project 1 clears an area of about 398 hectares. The total investment of component project 1 is about 8,283 billion VND. The source of compensation and clearance capital is from the central budget and local budget. This project has been implemented by localities of Binh Duong since 2024.
Component 2 of the expressway construction investment project is implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) investment method and build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract. The total investment of Component 2 is about VND 8,883 billion, with the project implementation period from 2024 to 2027.
Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project passing through Binh Duong province has a total length of more than 52.1km. The project is planned with a scale of 6 expressway lanes, designed speed of 100km/h. There are parallel roads on both sides, each side has 2 lanes 8m wide.
The route will have 4 interchanges, 21 bridges on the highway, 5 direct overpasses and 14 underpasses, ensuring it meets the modern standards of a vital traffic route.
In phase 1, the project is invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a scale of 4 expressway lanes, continuous emergency lanes along the entire route, a roadbed width of 25.5m, and a total investment of over 17,000 billion VND...
Notably, the expressway passing through Binh Duong is 52.1km long, including a section that coincides with DT 743 and DT 747 (from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to Khanh Van intersection). This 6.5km section has been invested in and built with a scale of 6 lanes, and will be kept in its current state. The newly invested and built section is 45.6km long (from Km 6+500 to Km 52+159).
