Document No. 1989/CAT-CSGT dated May 6, 2026 sent to Phu Quoc Sun Co., Ltd. affirms that functional agencies have studied dossiers and conducted actual surveys in the area from Km8+100 to Km8+600 of DT. 975 route according to the enterprise's proposal on lowering the slope to overcome the risk of traffic accidents at the Duong Bao school point roundabout.
Survey results show that the route section in the direction from An Thoi to Duong Dong has a large slope, higher than the road surface of Duong Bao school area, leading to limited visibility for vehicle operators, especially for vehicles traveling at high speeds. This is a factor that "contains a risk of traffic unsafety, easily leading to collisions", especially during peak hours.
Just need the car to go uphill a little faster and it is very difficult to observe the front. I have witnessed many situations of braking suddenly right next to the roundabout," said Mr. Nguyen Van Tr., a driver who regularly moves through this area.

Previously, through practical feedback from people and technical surveys, the construction unit of DT. 975 project identified the main cause as the geometry of the road. The section from Km8+100 to Km8+600 currently has a vertical slope of about 4%, combined with vertical curves and sharp curves, while the top of the slope is located at the same location as the roundabout. The combination of these factors causes the driver's vision to be "broken" when approaching the intersection.
To thoroughly handle the risk of unsafety, on April 6, Phu Quoc Sun Co., Ltd. - the investor of the DT. 975 expansion project - issued an official letter proposing a plan to reduce the slope of the about 500m long section, bringing the slope down to 1-2%, thereby expanding visibility and increasing reaction time for vehicle operators.
Currently, the unit is continuing to work with the Department of Construction of An Giang province to propose handling.
This is an area located on DT. 975 - a vital traffic axis connecting Phu Quoc International Airport with APEC Exhibition and Convention Center. The route is currently being upgraded on a large scale to serve this international event.
In the context that vehicle traffic is expected to continue to increase sharply in the coming time, especially when infrastructure and tourism projects are being implemented simultaneously, the need to definitively handle traffic "blind spots" such as the Duong Bao roundabout is becoming more urgent than ever.
People just hope to travel through this section safer, especially in the area near schools, after surveying, they hope to have a solution soon," Ms. Nguyen Thi H., a local parent, expressed.
It can be seen that the problem at Duong Bao roundabout is gradually being fully recognized from a traffic safety perspective. However, what is waiting for at this time is not only the documents, but the speed of implementing solutions on the ground, before the accident warnings become reality.
