On the afternoon of May 20, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Health report on the draft plan to implement periodic health check-ups or free screening for people in the area in 2026.
The plan is built to strive for each citizen to have periodic health check-ups or free screenings at least once a year.
Thereby, proactively detecting, preventing and treating diseases early, reducing the burden of disease and medical costs; and building a national health management database, serving the management of universal health according to the life cycle.
The plan is implemented throughout the province, applied to all people, divided into 5 priority groups.
Group 1 includes the elderly, people with disabilities, poor and near-poor households, people with meritorious services, people with chronic diseases and ethnic minorities in difficult areas.
Group 2 is preschool children and general education students; Group 3 is workers at agencies and businesses; Group 4 is officers and soldiers of the armed forces; Group 5 is the remaining subjects.
Health check-ups will be carried out at hospitals, medical centers, clinics, qualified health stations and mobile examination points at schools, businesses, and residential areas in remote and isolated areas.
The examination content includes periodic health check-ups according to age and screening for some non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, lung disease, reproductive health...
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc requested the Department of Health to urgently complete the draft plan based on fully receiving feedback, closely following Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW; ensuring closeness to reality, specificity, detail and having a methodical implementation roadmap.
In which, pay attention to dividing the implementation phase according to a roadmap: reviewing, preparing data, piloting, and then replicating.
At the same time, it is necessary to coordinate with the Department of Finance to develop cost norms, complete a strict settlement mechanism; review technology infrastructure, establish a system capable of extracting, entering and summarizing into a common database of the provincial health sector, ensuring the ability to share and exploit data effectively.
After completing the draft plan, the Department of Health will continue to seek opinions from departments, branches, and localities to summarize, complete, and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and promulgation.
