On April 29, the Vietnam Road Administration said:
In the past 3 days of the Giỗ Tổ holiday (from April 24, 2026 to the end of April 27, 2026), on the national highway and expressway system managed by the Ministry of Construction, 27 traffic accidents were recorded, killing 2 people and injuring 18 people.
Currently, the Road Administration continues to maintain a direct command and operation regime to ensure traffic safety 24/24 hours daily.
The Vietnam Road Administration requests agencies and units within the scope of their tasks and powers to strengthen solutions to ensure safe and smooth road traffic.
Strengthen propaganda to transport business establishments and relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals in complying with road traffic rules, regulations on traffic on highways; comply with operating speed regulations, safe distance; comply with regulations on issuing stop signals and arranging road signs in case of stopping and parking; organize hotline telephone numbers, traffic safety assurance and daily reports and other related contents.
The Road Administration said that Road Management Zones (QLĐB), Departments of Construction, VEC, and investors managing and operating national highways (under the Ministry of Construction as the competent authority) have issued documents guiding and directing the implementation of ensuring TT, ATGT, and road transport to serve people, organizations, and individuals participating in road traffic during the 2026 Ancestral Day holiday, the Commemoration of the Liberation of the South, national reunification on April 30, and the International Labor Day May 1, 2026.
On the other hand, the Department has assigned duty schedules for the above-mentioned holidays to leaders, department-level management officials, and specialists. Road Management Zones, agencies, and units have also assigned duty schedules and ensuring traffic safety and order on the holidays of the two close holidays mentioned above.
