The court's words:
With a "comprehensive package" healthcare model from medical examination and treatment, drug sales, accommodation, food and beverage... Phuc Lam Bao Duong Traditional Medicine Clinic (at Bat Dam village, Tan Linh commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi) of Tiktoker, Youtuber... "After reaching" has built an almost perfect image in cyberspace.
Fight the psychology of the elderly, long-term patients, tired of Western medicine, dreaming of a gentle, natural and cost-effective treatment method.
However, when the leaking media curtain was turned, the overloaded accommodation conditions, the high cost and the lack of transparent signs of medical examination and treatment caused many patients to fall into a vicious cycle between trust and dependence.
Attracting patients through online volunteer activities
Appearing on Youtube, Facebook, Tiktok as a "backpacking bag" with videos about the charity process, videos and clips that have been circulating on social networks in recent times have contributed to bringing the name of Phuc Lam Bao Duong and "Dat den De" - Mr. Bui Duy Dat - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Nam Duoc Lam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, became familiar.

The elaborate clips, depicting patients from all over coming to Phuc Lam Bao Duong after "failing" to withstand modern medicine, have strengthened the trust of viewers. In particular, cases that have been treated at many major hospitals but have not recovered, then after only a few orientation therapy here, they suddenly recovered spectacularly.
That belief is spread through volunteer images, giving gifts in remote areas, building the image of a businessman in the health sector with ethics as the root.
But hidden behind that "for the benefit of the world" image is a closed system, operating like a sophisticated, but suspicious business machine.
With the account name Dat Doi Dan, specializing in producing content on charity activities and Phuc Lam Bao Duong clinic with the appearance of Mr. Bui Duy Dat - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Nam Duc Lam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. On the Tiktok platform, "Dat den de" has nearly 200 thousand followers and 3.2 million likes. On the Youtube platform, "Dat den de" has more than 260 thousand subscribers with 678 videos with more than 95 million views.
The social network account "Dat den de" started participating in Youtube from May 25, 2022, and has now become a favorite channel of thousands of people, many of whom have become Dat patients.
Phuc Lam Bao Duong: Where there is "no reason to go out"
In March 2025, a group of reporters from Lao Dong newspaper approached and recorded the reality at the first location of Phuc Lam Bao Duong, located at 230 Ao Vua street, Tan Linh commune, Ba Vi district.

Through observation, Phuc Lam Bao Duong has an area of up to more than 10,000m2, with two main blocks of works, including the medical examination and treatment area inside Phuc Lam Bao Duong's campus and the accommodation area opposite is called by the patient as the "5-star hotel".
The "hotel" building has a luxurious, overwhelming design, with 16 rooms, allowing patients to come for a check-up and stay. Each room can accommodate up to 6 patients but only has 2 beds, which means that 3 people have to sleep in the same bed.

"A room of 6 people, 2 beds, but on crowded days there are sometimes 4 people/bed. Last night, she had to lie on the side because another person came to see her. Here is cramped but clean, the price of 80,000 VND/person/night spent in each room is also 500,000 VND, in the stilt house area, there are dozens of people sleeping on the same floor, the toilet is dirty, foul, foul, very inconvenient", said Ms. Vinh (character's name has been changed), Phu Ninh, Phu Tho.

In addition to hospital beds, Phuc Lam Bao Duong also provides other services, from the kitchen, dining area, medicine stall and grocery stall for personal use. This ecosystem not only serves but also controls all of the patient's eating, living and treatment activities. Everything is designed for patients to "use money internally", from pills to meals.

Many abnormalities in medical examination and treatment activities
Posing as a patient with back pain, the reporter registered for medical examination here. After taking the serial number, the reporter was taken to a small, low-light room, about 10m2 wide, which was introduced as the "esthetectological clinic".
On the wall of this clinic, there are many blouses labeled Military Hospital 105. The medical examiner claimed to have worked at this hospital. But when asked many times for verification, this doctor said that he used to work at Hanoi General Hospital.
After a series of preliminary examinations, the reporter was diagnosed with muscle contractions and back dilation, possibly due to spinal cord thorns, calcifications or disc edema despite normal health.
"Currently, your back and disc are having problems. You have a history of back pain, a condition that starts from many different causes such as spinal thorns, disc edema or acne. Most cases are caused by heavy work or prolonged poor posture habits," diagnosed Phuc Lam Bao Duong's doctor.

Instead of instructing them to go for an in-depth examination or do paraclinical tests at a higher-level medical facility, this doctor advised reporters to treat them with on-site orientation, because "using Western medicine only temporarily relieves pain, in the long run will harm the liver and kidneys because Western medicine has pain reliever ingredients, and should not be overused".
"If you want to find the cause of the disease, tomorrow or when you are free, you can go outside for an exfoliation, but if you don't need to find the cause but still want to recover from the disease, I will treat you here. There is a place to stay here, I'll stay here," the person who calls himself a doctor of Phuc Lam Bao Duong advised the reporter.
When the reporter expressed his desire to return after having a clear time and medical records, the doctor immediately asked: "I just take the medicine to use right on the day to help relieve pain, then return to do physical therapy later".
According to the male doctor, the treatment package proposed for reporters includes acupressure and massage for treatment at a price of 250,000 VND/day. If the patient stays, an additional 150,000 VND/day will be added, including food and accommodation. This is a significant number for the elderly, farmers, and manual and footworkers who have suffered from illness.
According to the doctor, an average patient treated in Phuc Lam Bao Duong will last from 7-10 days depending on the condition. With the scale of activity and the number of patients full of rooms every day, the facility in Ba Vi also brings huge profits. Not to mention the revenue from the pharmacy and other living services in this closed ecosystem.
In Phuc Lam Bao Duong, a closed ecosystem has been established, covering all medical examination, treatment, dining, accommodation and shopping activities. From cooking and service staff, to grocery stalls, accommodation floors and snail room systems that are advertised as modern, all are located around like "satellites" serving this oriental medicine clinic.
This "self-provided" model has been operating for a long time, deciding on service prices, but according to the representative of Phuc Lam Bao Duong, all of the above activities are "in accordance with the law".
According to the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment No. 15/2023/QH15, clinics are only allowed to operate within the scope of expertise stated on the license. With the traditional medicine clinic model, this scope is outpatient examination and treatment, without overnight accommodation.
Circular 41/2011/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health also clearly states: "Specialty clinics do not organize inpatient treatment".
The function of helping patients stay home is only provided to a hospital or traditional medicine hospital - where there are sufficient conditions for hospital beds, 24/7 on-duty human resources and emergency systems.
According to Article 39 of Decree 117/2020/ND-CP, if patients are allowed to stay illegally, the clinic can be fined from 20 - 40 million VND and have their operating license revoked for up to 24 months.
