According to the Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal, the Provincial People's Committee is organizing a consultation with voters representing households on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units and building a 2-level government in the province.
According to the administrative unit arrangement project, the province currently has 91 administrative units, after the arrangement it is expected that there will be 36 communes and wards left.
Criteria for arranging ward-level administrative units with a population of 45,000 or more people and an area of 5.5 km2 or more. According to records, most wards in Binh Duong are arranged from the merged facility of 2 to 3 wards and communes or more.
Notably, the whole province only Thoi Hoa ward in Ben Cat city is proposed to remain in its current state.
According to the People's Committee of Ben Cat city, Thoi Hoa was formed in 1979 on the basis of separation from Hoa Dinh commune to 2 communes, Thoi Hoa and Tan Dinh. In 2013, Thoi Hoa commune became a ward when Ben Cat town was established.
Thoi Hoa ward has an area of 37.93 km2 and a population of about 82,000 people in 2021. This is one of the dynamically developing areas of Ben Cat city.
In Thoi Hoa ward, there are My Phuoc 1 industrial park, My Phuoc 3 industrial park and Thoi Hoa industrial park. This is an area for industrial urban development, with a large concentration of workers.
Thoi Hoa ward is planned quite systematically with a modern, spacious and airy urban transport system. The ward has many modern urban areas with many green park spaces.
There are 3 major routes passing through Thoi Hoa ward: My Phuoc Tan Van, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 and National Highway 13.
Currently, Thoi Hoa ward is also collecting public opinions on the arrangement of administrative units and on Thoi Hoa ward maintaining the status quo after the arrangement.
Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that the consultation will be organized through a conference and a survey, to be completed before April 23.
After collecting opinions, the Provincial People's Council must meet before April 25, 2025 to complete the Project to submit to the Central Government.
