On the occasion of National Day on September 2, the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu Ward (Can Tho City) began implementing a financial support payment program for people in accordance with the State's social security policy. With a total amount of more than 9 billion VND allocated to nearly 98,000 people in the area, the program not only brings material joy but also shows the deep concern of local authorities.
The payment was carefully organized, to the right subjects and at the right time, receiving consensus and appreciation from the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa (38 years old, living on Ba Huyen Thanh Quan Street) happily shared: "When I arrived, I was instructed to complete the procedures very quickly, and it was only about 5 minutes. I received 800,000 VND and plan to use this money to make my family have a warmer Independence Festival. Thank you to the State for your timely attention and support".
Sharing the same joy, Mr. Ngo Phuoc Toan (living on Nguyen Trai Street) expressed his excitement at receiving support for the first time: "This is the first time I have received a gift, very happy and touched. The payment was quick, the staff and instructors were very dedicated".
According to records, the money payment work was organized very scientifically. Local officials have actively supported people at every stage, from receiving to completing procedures.
To ensure the payment is quick and effective, Mr. Nguyen Anh Hoai - Vice Chairman of Ninh Kieu Ward People's Committee - said that the ward has made a detailed plan, allocating more than 9 billion VND to nearly 98,000 people.
The payment started from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 31, and continued from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on September 1 to 2. In particular, for cases with insufficient information, the payment period will last until September 15 to ensure that all people receive support.
The only gift-giving location is at the Ninh Kieu Ward Public Administration Service Center. To avoid congestion, the center has arranged 8 separate stalls.
In addition, the Ward People's Committee has also proactively notified each street so that people can come to receive money at the assigned time and session, ensuring order and safety throughout the payment process.
To support gifts of 100,000 VND on the occasion of National Day 2.9, many localities in Can Tho City have mobilized forces to work all night.
In My Xuyen ward, at around 7:30 p.m., hundreds of households were present to complete procedures to receive support. Ms. Luong Thi Tuyet Lien (born in 1964), the first person to receive the money, said that when she heard the local announcement, she took the opportunity to arrive early so she quickly finished it.
"I received gifts for the whole family of 8, for a total of 800,000 VND. This National Day holiday is so much fun, even if I have to wait a little, it's okay because I will definitely receive it", Ms. Lien shared.
Mr. Tran Van Kiet also received 400,000 VND for 4 family members. He said: "I have retired for a long time, my wife is a housewife, and my two children are going to school. This amount of money helps the family have more snacks during the holiday. We are very happy that the State cares about this."
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao (born in 1960) received 700,000 VND for 7 members. "My children do not have stable jobs and unstable incomes. Thanks to this amount of money, I can buy rice, fish meat, and spices to prepare meals for the whole family," Ms. Dao expressed.
According to statistics, My Xuyen ward has 11,698 households with 51,213 people, the total cost of gifts for the occasion of National Day on September 2 is more than 5.1 billion VND. The locality has established 17 working groups in charge of 17 hamlets and villages. The payment period starts from the evening of August 31, lasting all day of September 1, and those that customers have not yet received will be resolved before September 15, 2025.
In Lich Hoi Thuong commune, the government also established 17 working groups to distribute gifts to each hamlet. In addition to spending at the gathering places, on the first day, the locality also organized a group to go to the homes to give gifts to the elderly, sick people, and people with difficulty in traveling, even in the evening. According to statistics, the whole commune has 6,275 households with 27,848 people, with a total cost of nearly 2.8 billion VND.
