On December 7, information from the People's Committee of Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province said that recently, more and more tourists have come to Mang Den to visit and experience the culture, climate, agricultural ecosystem, etc.
According to statistics, in 2022, Mang Den National Ecotourism Area attracted about 660,000 tourists. By 2023, this place had reached the milestone of 1 million tourists coming to visit and stay...
In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, over 1.1 million tourists visited Mang Den. To date, Kon Plong district has 7 tourist attractions recognized by the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee.
Of which, there are 2 recognized community tourism spots: Kon Pring Community Tourism Village (Mang Den town) and Vi Ro Ngheo Community Tourism Village (Dak Tang commune).
In particular, during holidays and Tet, there was a time when Mang Den town at an altitude of 1,200m above sea level welcomed about 50,000 tourists.
During the holidays, the occupancy rate of accommodation services is usually at 100%. Kon Plong district’s tourism revenue in the 2016-2022 period is about 370 billion VND.
In the past 3 years, revenue from tourism has increased significantly, contributing positively to the district's overall revenue.
In 2020, revenue was 40 billion VND, in 2021 it was 25 billion VND (due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic), in 2022 it was 180 billion VND and by 2023 it was more than 170 billion VND.
For a remote mountainous district in the Central Highlands, having a stable source of income from tourism is an impressive number, contributing to improving people's lives.
Currently, Mang Den has 70 accommodation service establishments of various types such as: Resorts, hotels, homestays, motels... Of which, there are more than 800 rooms, ensuring service for about 4,500 guests staying and relaxing every day.
According to Mr. Dang Quang Ha - Chairman of Kon Plong District People's Committee, the general planning for the construction of Mang Den Tourist Area until 2045 has been officially approved by the Prime Minister.
This event brings excitement to the tourism industry of Kon Plong in particular and Kon Tum province in general.
The planning has clearly defined the goal of building and developing Mang Den Tourist Area to become a key tourism development center of the country.
This place has unique tourism products associated with the characteristics of cool climate, natural ecological landscape... Kon Tum province is striving to make Mang Den a branded national tourist area by 2045.
Regarding this famous landmark, in August 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation visited and worked in Kon Plong district and emphasized that the development of Mang Den National Tourist Area must be consistent with the green, sustainable and inclusive development orientation of the entire Kon Tum province.
