Upgrading basic health infrastructure
After about 9 months of construction, the administrative block and other new construction and repair items of Mo Duc District Medical Center have basically been completed. This center is one of four district-level medical facilities invested by Quang Ngai province under the project of Investment in new construction, renovation, upgrading, expansion and equipment procurement for four district-level medical centers. Mo Duc District Medical Center invested in the construction of a new main block with a floor area of 2,600m², medical gas system, operating room electrical equipment, fire prevention and fighting system, wastewater... with a total cost of 34.3 billion VND.
According to Mr. Phan Truong Chinh - Director of Mo Duc District Medical Center, over the years, the emergency resuscitation department has seriously degraded, unable to ensure treatment for the people. Therefore, investing in and upgrading the center greatly supports the medical work at the district and commune levels in the locality.
Similarly, Duc Pho Town Medical Center has been newly invested in for many months and is preparing to be put into operation. This newly built medical facility includes a main building with a floor area of nearly 1,800m², many auxiliary items and specialized equipment serving the health care of the people. This medical center will provide professional and technical services in preventive medicine; population - family planning; medical examination, treatment, rehabilitation and other medical services.
From the central budget under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program and part of the provincial budget, Quang Ngai province has implemented the project of Investing in new construction, renovation, upgrading, expansion and purchasing equipment for four district-level medical centers including the Medical Centers of Nghia Hanh, Tu Nghia, Mo Duc districts and Duc Pho town, investing in building new departments and administrative areas; renovating some degraded departments; constructing auxiliary items and purchasing some medical equipment. With a total investment of 136.8 billion VND, the project will be implemented from 2023 and focus on construction, completing in 2024.
Speed up progress
According to the Quang Ngai Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the medical centers are invested from the central budget under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program and part of the provincial budget, so there is great pressure on progress and disbursement time of capital. "If the construction is not completed in time and completed in 2024, the disbursement will not be granted and this capital will be lost. We and the construction units will focus for 9 months to meet the schedule and ensure effective investment capital," said the investor representative.
New investment, upgrading 4 medical facilities to meet the needs of medical examination, treatment, and health care for people in Nghia Hanh, Tu Nghia, Mo Duc districts and Duc Pho town and neighboring areas of Quang Ngai province. At the same time, this medical infrastructure contributes greatly to prevention and treatment; improving the quality and effectiveness of health care for the people. In addition, it contributes to increasing the rate of people going to see a doctor, reducing the overload of upper-level hospitals, reducing the rate of referrals, and reducing the cost of medical examination and treatment for patients.
At the 29th Session of the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, which recently took place, the Provincial People's Council agreed on the investment policy for the project to upgrade Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital. With the goal of strengthening the infrastructure for the province's frontline medical facilities, contributing to meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people in the province. Gradually complete the construction of the Provincial General Hospital with the aim of improving the quality, efficiency and comprehensiveness of medical examination and treatment, perfecting the Hospital to be worthy of being a Grade I Hospital. The total investment capital is 130 billion VND.
