According to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, the Signature Royal QN-7269 cruise ship encountered a fire incident on the evening of February 27, 2026, all tourists were safe but lost personal property due to the ship fire incident.
Immediately after the incident occurred, Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee directed relevant units to urgently handle the scene, overcome the consequences, and at the same time stabilize the psychology of tourists, directing the immediate arrangement of accommodation, ensuring accommodation and living conditions for all affected tourists at Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel.
Provincial functional agencies have also coordinated with ship owners to proactively contact embassies of countries with citizens traveling on ships to support the re-issuance of passports for cases of lost papers; coordinate with the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) to issue travel permits as soon as possible, creating conditions for tourists to continue their journey to visit Vietnam or complete exit procedures according to their wishes.
The ship management enterprise is committed to supporting personal belongings and essential items for immediate living; and at the same time providing initial support of 5 million VND/person to cover personal expenses.

For tourists with underlying illnesses or needing medical care, the locality has arranged examination and treatment at medical facilities, all costs are paid by businesses in coordination.
According to the direction of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board has supported each tourist with 5 million VND to share difficulties.
Previously, at about 5 pm on February 27, in the area near Hang Co in Ha Long Bay, the Signature QN-7269 tourist boat caught fire, with 30 passengers (28 foreign passengers) and 11 crew members on board.
Immediately after detecting the incident, the captain and crew members urgently deployed on-site response measures, quickly taking all passengers away to the Ploma QN-8388 tourist boat operating near the area. All 30 tourists and 11 crew members were in stable health.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee directed the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Cong - Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command - to directly go to the scene to direct the handling and overcoming work.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs came to encourage and provide maximum support to tourists.
The fire was extinguished afterwards, and the ship did not sink. The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
By February 28, accommodation and sightseeing activities in Ha Long Bay will still take place normally.
