According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, in 2026, 132 traditional festivals will take place throughout the province, of which the spring festival season continues to be vibrant with more than 100 festivals.
Notably, the Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026 will take place on February 26 (ie, the 10th day of the first lunar month) at Truc Lam Palace, Yen Tu Relic and Scenic Area, Yen Tu ward, Quang Ninh province, with a scale of about 5,000 participants.
The program includes traditional rituals such as palanquin procession, ringing drums - ringing bells to open the festival, offering incense, praying for national peace and prosperity, and stamping the sacred Yen Tu seal.
On the same day, a special art program with a scale of about 10,000 people took place, recreating the historical, cultural and ideological journey of the Truc Lam Zen sect.
Some other activities also took place simultaneously at the spring festival such as the Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Exhibition (from February 25 to March 4 at Guong Thien Khai Tam), displaying documents, images, and artifacts about the formation and development of the Truc Lam Zen sect, along with antiques from the Tran Dynasty.

Yen Tu festival lasts from the 10th day of the first lunar month to the end of March of the lunar calendar, is one of the major festivals of the North, attracting tens of thousands of Buddhists and pilgrims to pray for peace, health, and good luck at the beginning of the year.

The 2026 Cua Ong Temple Festival takes place from March 19 to March 22 with many solemn rituals.
The ceremony part includes the procession of the Duc Ong palanquin and the wandering gods combined with a parade of boats at sea; the ceremony of worshiping Duc Ong and offering incense to Saint Mother; the ceremony of worshiping Trung Thien Long Mau at Thuong Temple and Mother Temple.
Typical art programs include festival drums, "Hào khí Đông A" dance, and the divine play "Dấu thiêng lưu tích".
The festival part is exciting with many activities such as tug-of-war, stick pushing, offering and preparation of offerings (arranging trays of fruits, preparing betel and phoenix wings, marching and cooking rice together), human flags, boi flags, blindfolded ball beating, cockfighting, to tom diem, boat racing, Quan Ho singing on Baza Lake.
The festival aims to commemorate Duc Ong Tran Quoc Tang and the heroes who contributed to protecting the country.
The Tien Cong Festival, Phong Coc ward takes place from the 5th to the 7th day of the first lunar month. The 7th day of the first lunar month is the main festival. The festival commemorates 17 Tien Congs - those who contributed to reclaiming land and establishing villages in Ha Nam island region.
The highlight of the festival is the procession ritual honoring elderly people aged 80 and over (Cụ Thượng), along with many cultural activities imbued with the village identity of the Bach Dang river mouth region.
Besides major festivals, many other traditional festivals also take place in the spring such as Long Tien Pagoda festival, Bach Dang festival, Xa Tac temple festival, Luc Na festival... creating a colorful festival culture picture in the province.
Spring in Quang Ninh is not only a time when nature shows off its colors but also a season to connect communities, a season when the cultural identity of ethnic groups is honored and spread. New Year festivals both meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people and contribute to promoting the image of Quang Ninh with rich traditions to domestic and foreign tourists.
