Over the past 2 months, on weekends, traffic jams have occurred continuously on National Highway 1A through Dai Tam commune (Soc Trang province). This traffic jam stretches for kilometers, causing people and tourists to face slow and tired travel.

According to Lao Dong newspaper reporters at noon on March 16, the traffic jam on National Highway 1A lasted about 8 km, from Dai Tam Market to the People's Committee of Dai Tam commune.
Ms. Duong Thi Quy - a resident of Dai Tam commune - said that traffic jams have occurred since the Lunar New Year 2024. The main reason is that pilgrims from Bac Lieu province flock to Ken Kieu pagoda (a pagoda with unique architecture located next to National Highway 1A). Due to the large number of vehicles, there was a long traffic jam.

Mr. Ly Truong Dang in Dai Tam commune said that his house is about 1 km from Chua Chen Kieu, and due to the long traffic jam, he had to move his car into the alley to take a shortcut to shorten the time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh, a tourist from Vinh Long province, said: "My family went to Tac Say church in Gia Rai town, visited Nam Hai Mother in Bac Lieu province, and then on the way back, visited Ken Kieu Pagoda to enjoy the Pagoda's scenery and buy some specialties. However, due to the large number of vehicles, it took more than 45 minutes to get through this section of the road".
Traffic police were present at the scene, directing traffic and guiding traffic, but due to the large traffic volume, moving through this area was still difficult. At around 3pm the same day, the road was cleared, making it easier for vehicles to travel.
