Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road
Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road is the most anticipated project because of its important role in connecting the South of Ho Chi Minh City with the center.
Currently, people from Nha Be area, District 7 want to move to the center, there are only two main roads: Nguyen Huu Tho - Kenh Te bridge and Huynh Tan Phat - Tan Thuan bridge - Nguyen Tat Thanh.
However, both routes are often overloaded, especially during rush hour, making the congestion serious.
The Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road project was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in 2016 with an initial investment capital of VND1,250 billion, later adjusted to more than VND2,800 billion due to expanding scale. However, due to lack of capital, the project was stalled for 7 years.
By the end of 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved an adjustment to the investment policy, raising the total to more than VND 3,700 billion from the city budget.

The project is nearly 5 km long, including 2.5 km of bridge and 2.3 km of road, starting from D1 road (District 7), crossing Te canal and Ben Nghe canal, connecting to Vo Van Kiet Avenue (District 1). In addition to the main route, the project also has branches connecting Tran Xuan Soan, Ton That Thuyet and Vo Van Kiet.
District 4 People's Committee is speeding up compensation work, expected to reclaim 1.7 hectares of land, affecting 148 cases with a budget of more than 1,000 billion VND.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is completing technical procedures and selecting contractors to start the project in September 2025, and complete it in 2027.
Rach Tom Bridge
Rach Tom Bridge is located on Le Van Luong Street (Nha Be District), an iron bridge built before 1975. After nearly half a century, the bridge has seriously degraded but still has to "carry" a large volume of traffic.

The project to build the new Rach Tom bridge was approved in 2019 with a total investment of nearly 497 billion VND. The project is more than 683 m long, of which the bridge is 171 m long and 15 m wide; the approach road is 512 m long and 29 m wide. However, due to lack of capital, the project cannot be implemented.
By the end of 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council had approved the policy of reclaiming 3.1 hectares of land to serve the project. Currently, preparations are being urgently completed to start construction in 2025.
If there are no obstacles, Rach Tom Bridge will be completed and put into operation in 2026, contributing to changing the appearance of traffic on the Le Van Luong axis - one of the main arteries in the South of Ho Chi Minh City.
Ong Nhieu Bridge
The Ong Nhieu Bridge project is located on Nguyen Duy Trinh Street, across Ong Nhieu Canal (Thu Duc City), connecting Phu Huu and Long Truong Wards.

The project started in December 2017 with an initial investment capital of 425 billion VND. The bridge has a total length of 725 m and a width of nearly 20 m.
However, after only 1.5% of the construction volume was completed, the project was "suspended" due to land clearance problems.
By July 2022, the total investment was adjusted to increase to more than 763 billion VND due to increased compensation, site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure costs.
The Thu Duc City People's Committee is urgently implementing compensation and resettlement support to hand over the site to the construction unit.
When completed, Ong Nhieu Bridge will increase the clearance of the waterway, meet the needs of water transportation and synchronize the load on Nguyen Duy Trinh Street, connect Ho Chi Minh City with Phu Huu Industrial Park and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
