Binh Thuan is planning a coastal route through the center of Phan Thiet city, nearly 15 km long, with a total investment of more than VND9,620 billion.

In recent times, many coastal roads in Binh Thuan have been invested in construction and put into operation such as DT.706B road (Vo Nguyen Giap road); DT.719 road, Ke Ga - Tan Thien section and the section through La Gi town; Lien Huong - Binh Thanh section; Song Luy bridge - Hoa Thang section; DT.706B - Hung Vuong bridge; and DT.719B road, Phan Thiet - Ke Ga section and Hon Lan - Tan Hai section are under construction.

However, the coastal route in the central area of Phan Thiet city has been limited in recent times. Some coastal traffic areas are narrow and do not ensure traffic safety. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement the planning and investment in the construction of the coastal route in the central area of Phan Thiet city, combined with additional coastal land fund, forming an airy coastal park to create a highlight for the city.

On that basis, the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Binh Thuan Province has proposed planning a coastal route of about 14.6 km long through Phan Thiet City. This route is expected to have its starting point connecting to the roundabout of DT.706B road in Phu Hai ward. This is the gateway to Ham Tien - Mui Ne tourist area. The end point of the route is expected to intersect with DT.719 road at Cambodia slope, Tien Thanh commune.

The route is divided into 5 sections for investment in 2 phases. Phase 2026-2030 will invest in the first section of the route to the end of Doi Duong Park, including: section 1 from Km 0 - Km 5+230 (including Phu Hai River overpass); section 2 continues to Km 6+210, with a length of about 0.98 km from Ton That Tung Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street; section 3 continues to Km 6+765 with a length of about 0.555 km, from Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Le Loi Street.

In the 2031-2035 period, the remaining sections will be invested in: section 4 to Km 11+620 with a length of about 4.855 km (including the Ca Ty River overpass) and section 5 to Km 14+600 with a length of about 2.98 km. The project has a total investment of about 9,624 billion VND.

Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai agreed on the necessity, preliminary plan of the coastal route through Phan Thiet city and implementation solutions. In particular, focusing on reviewing the two clearance positions of Phu Hai River overpass and Ca Ty River overpass; reviewing the land fund that can be auctioned in this area and the auctioned land fund of Phan Thiet city; calculating the traffic system connecting this area; the volume of sand to implement the project.
