According to the Department of Transport of Binh Thuan province, the investment project to build a high-speed railway on the North-South axis, the section through Binh Thuan province passes through 5 districts with 2 passenger stations including Phan Ri station located in Phan Hoa commune, Bac Binh district and Phan Thiet station located in Ham Hiep commune, Ham Thuan Bac district.
Recently, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province has directed relevant departments, branches and localities to implement tasks under the province's responsibility for the project.
The review and unification of the route and station plan for the section passing through the province have been carried out and a document has been agreed upon with the Ministry of Transport. At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee has requested the Ministry of Transport to adjust the location of Muong Man station in Muong Man commune, Ham Thuan Nam district to Ham Hiep commune, Ham Thuan Bac district. Currently, the Ministry of Transport has accepted the province's proposal to move Muong Man station to a new location about 4km north of the old location (Phan Thiet station).
The provincial planning has also updated the route plan, station of the project section through Binh Thuan province and planned a new route connecting from Phan Thiet city to Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway (at about Km225+120) passing through Phan Thiet station of the project.
The Provincial People's Committee has announced that it has assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to advise and propose that the Provincial People's Committee assign a unit to research and propose an investment policy for the above connecting road project, and at the same time assign tasks to relevant departments, branches and localities to update the above connecting road, the station, maintenance station of the project and the TOD urban area (urban development oriented towards public transport) into the district planning, communal general planning, land use planning and plans.
Regarding Phan Ri station located in Phan Hoa commune, Bac Binh district, on November 15, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee inspected the actual location of the station and the related planning options connecting to the station in Bac Binh district and requested the project consultant to study the location of the station and the road connecting to the station as a basis for the province to direct the implementation of the next steps.
The Ministry of Transport is currently carrying out procedures for site clearance for the project to prepare a feasibility study report. Immediately after the project is approved by the competent authority, the Provincial People's Committee will assign tasks to departments, branches and localities where the project passes through to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to carry out site clearance for the project according to regulations, ensuring the progress of the project.
