On January 12, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee worked on the drainage project in the area outside Long Thanh airport (phase 1) and requested to complete procedures and start the project in June 2026.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the project has a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND in phase 1, invested and built to serve drainage for 5 regulating lakes to be built in the airport area to prevent flooding for Long Thanh airport.
The project implementation process will carry out dredging, reinforcing embankments and solidifying nearly 20 km of Bung Mon stream and Da Vang stream; building pipelines from regulating lakes in Long Thanh airport to these 2 streams; At the same time, building nearly 17 km of rural traffic roads along both sides of Bung Mon and Da Vang streams, upgrading and building 5 new bridges on these 2 streams (3 bridges on Bung Mon stream and 2 bridges on Da Vang stream).
According to leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, after commencement, the project must accelerate the implementation progress to complete the disbursement of project capital in 2026. At the same time, the Department of Construction works with Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to unify connection locations.
