On July 22, the Quang Tri Airport Project Management Board said that the Investor Consortium (T&T Infrastructure Investment and Development Co., Ltd. and CIENCO4 Group Joint Stock Company) and Quang Tri Airport Co., Ltd. organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the Air Traffic Control Tower under the Quang Tri Airport (airport) Project.
The roof lift event marks the air traffic control tower becoming the 10th item of the entire project to complete the structural part, officially moving to the stage of completion and installation of specialized equipment systems.
Considered a "brain" controlling all flight operations, the Air Traffic Control Tower is one of the most important items, playing a role in ensuring safety and coordinating operations when the airport operates. The project has a scale of 11 floors and a roof, the peak floor height is 44.34m, the highest point reaches 51.73m.
Overcoming harsh weather conditions and schedule pressure, the team of engineers and workers worked day and night to bring this key item to completion on schedule.
Besides the air traffic control station, many other important items of the project are also accelerating construction. Such as the passenger terminal has basically completed the main structural items; is synchronously deploying the construction of interior and exterior plastering, installing steel roof structures and auxiliary technical infrastructure. The runway item has been completed.
Quang Tri airport project is invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), started in July 2024 with a total investment of more than 5,800 billion VND. Recently, the project has officially been adjusted from a 4C-class airport to a 4E-class, allowing the reception of modern wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 787 and Airbus A350.
Previously, on December 26, 2025, the Government Inspectorate issued Inspection Conclusion Notice No. 3436/TB-TTCP, which clearly stated that the investor's financial arrangement was too slow. After 16 months since the contract took effect, the enterprise only contributed 96.9 billion VND out of total owner's equity of 421.3 billion VND, reaching about 23%, violating the provisions of the PPP Law. A series of errors in survey documents, design, contractor selection, supervision and site clearance were also pointed out.
Before the rectification request of the Government Inspectorate, under the direction and urging of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and investors focused on removing bottlenecks.
