Thorough preparation
Today, July 15, Quang Tri province will simultaneously start construction and repair of 361 houses for children of resistance war participants infected with chemical toxins. This is a program of profound humanitarian significance, aimed at supporting families living in degraded houses, gradually stabilizing their lives and ensuring social security.
In the days before the groundbreaking ceremony, many localities urgently completed the preparations. In Ninh Chau commune, the old house of Mr. Duong Van Anh's family has been completely dismantled. The ground has been cleaned up, and construction materials have been fully gathered to be ready for construction according to the plan.
For Mr. Duong Van Anh's family, the new house not only helps eliminate worries every rainy and storm season but is also a great source of encouragement after many years of living in a seriously degraded house.
The old house is heavily damaged, often leaky, and no longer ensures safety for family life. Being supported by the State to build a new house makes members very excited and more reassured about their future lives" - Mr. Van Anh shared.
To ensure progress, local military forces, along with Party committees, authorities, militia and people, have coordinated to dismantle old houses, clear ground and support households to prepare necessary conditions before the groundbreaking day.
Major Nguyen Van Bang - Deputy Commander of Ninh Chau Commune Military Command said that the unit has mobilized militia forces to coordinate with local authorities and families to dismantle the house, and at the same time prepare sufficient conditions for the groundbreaking to take place on schedule.
The entire political system joins hands to implement
Quang Tri province has 361 households that are children of people participating in the resistance war who were infected with toxic chemicals and are eligible for support to build new or repair houses in this phase.
To synchronously implement the program, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command is assigned to be the core force in supporting human resources and labor days. In addition to the standing force, localities also mobilize militia, self-defense forces, unions and people to participate, contributing to reducing costs and accelerating construction progress.
According to Mr. Duong Tan Long - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province, along with the funding allocated according to the program, the locality also actively mobilized organizations, businesses, philanthropists and benefactors inside and outside the province to participate in socialization to further support households.
Colonel Truong Viet Hai - Political Commissar of the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command said that the unit will closely coordinate with the authorities of communes and wards to mobilize militia and self-defense forces to participate in supporting families in the construction process. Mobilizing many forces to participate will contribute to ensuring that the projects are completed on schedule and with quality.
According to leaders of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for children of people participating in the resistance war who were infected with chemical toxins is an important political task, showing the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source" and the concern of the Party and State for people with meritorious services.
Mr. Le Van Bao - Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee said that the province has mobilized the participation of the entire political system, from Party committees, authorities to mass organizations and people to join hands in implementing the program. The goal is not only to build solid houses but also to spread the spirit of solidarity and sharing to families of people with meritorious services.
