Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal reported that the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province held a meeting on the progress of projects in the investment preparation phase, including the Saigon River road project, from Ba Lua canal to An Son port.
The Saigon River road, from Ba Lua canal to An Son port, is expected to have a total investment of 2,133 billion VND.
This will be an urban road traffic project, designed for a speed of 50 km/h with a cross-section of 32m, and a total route length of about 3.5 km.
The starting point of the project is at Ba Lua canal connecting with the Ba Lua canal tide control sluice project, An Son ward, Thuan An city. The end point of the project is An Son port, adjacent to the Saigon River Road project invested by the People's Committee of Thuan An city in An Son ward, Thuan An city.
The project's pre-feasibility study report has been completed. According to the plan, the pre-feasibility study report will be appraised and approved in the first quarter of 2025. The next period will be to invite bids and select contractors. The project is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and complete in the second quarter of 2028.
According to the record, this 3.5km section of the Saigon River road will connect with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, the section through Binh Duong is under construction. The project will also connect with an important river port in Binh Duong, An Son port. When the project is invested, it will contribute to the urban beautification along the Saigon River on the Binh Duong side. At the same time, it will enhance connectivity with Binh Duong's key traffic routes such as Cach Mang Thang Tam, National Highway 13, My Phuoc Tan Van.
30km of Saigon riverside road passes through 2 major cities
According to Binh Duong Province's Electronic Information Portal, the Saigon River road, through Thu Dau Mot City and Thuan An City, is about 30km long.
Of which, in Thuan An city, the length is about 13.6km, passing through Vinh Phu, Lai Thieu, Binh Nham, An Son wards. Currently, the section from Binh Nham canal to Chau Van Tiep street, 1.68km long, in Binh Nham ward, has been invested in construction, and about 11.2km has not been invested. The existing route is the Saigon river embankment road with a dirt and stone structure, 5m-6m wide, and the cleared area is 18m.
The section through Thu Dau Mot city is 16.7km long, passing through the wards of Phu Tho, Chanh Nghia, Phu Cuong, Chanh My, Tuong Binh Hiep and Tan An. Of which, Bach Dang and Nguyen Tri Phuong streets have been invested and constructed for about 3.7km, while the remaining sections on the route have not been invested and constructed for about 13km.
