The investment project to build a development axis connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway (development axis) has a total investment of more than 5,000 billion VND. The starting point of the project is at Km0+0 of the Cao Bo intersection area in Y Yen district; the ending point of the project is at Km46+0 of Nghia Phuc commune (now Phuc Thang commune), Nghia Hung district; the route length is about 46km.
The complete scale of the project, the road section, the section from Cao Bo intersection to the road leading to Thinh Long bridge (Km00+00 - Km36+400) is about 36.4km; level II delta scale, roadbed width 24m, road surface with 4 motor vehicle lanes. The section from the road leading to Thinh Long bridge to Rang Dong Industrial Park (Km36+400 - Km46) is about 9.6km; the scale of the main urban street is mainly roadbed width 32.5 - 34.5m; road surface with 6 motor vehicle lanes.
In November, according to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, at the construction site of the development axis road project in Nghia Hung district, many machines and equipment were gathered together with workers urgently completing the final items.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dai - representative of the construction unit of the development axis road said: "The construction unit is focusing all machinery and human resources to complete the construction of two layers of road surface and is constructing the final layer, traffic safety items. Up to now, the construction progress of the entire route has reached more than 96%, striving to complete in the fourth quarter of 2024".
On the development axis, Dong Cao bridge across Dao river is the most important item of the project, 99% completed. This is the bridge connecting Nghia Hung and Y Yen districts (of Nam Dinh province), the bridge is 12m wide, nearly 2km long including the approach road.
Sharing about the effectiveness of the development axis when it comes into operation, Mr. Dinh Van Phuong - Director of the Nam Dinh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that Phase II of the project is gradually completing the final items. When completed, the development axis will help improve connectivity, shorten the transportation distance between the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone and the North-South Expressway. At the same time, it will connect the regional traffic network and the national traffic system.
