On June 23, An Phu Ward People's Council said that it had passed a resolution on arranging and reorganizing neighborhoods in the ward.
Accordingly, An Phu ward will rearrange and reorganize 7 existing neighborhoods into 14 neighborhoods.
Maintain 3 neighborhoods as neighborhood 2, neighborhood 3 and neighborhood 1A; establish neighborhood 1B, neighborhood 7, neighborhood 8 from the area and population of neighborhood 1B;
Establish neighborhood 4, neighborhood 5, neighborhood 6 from the area and population of neighborhood 4;
Establishment of Binh Chuan 1 neighborhood, Binh Chuan 2 neighborhood from the area and population of Binh Phuoc A neighborhood;
Establishment of Binh Chuan 3 neighborhood, Binh Chuan 4 neighborhood, Binh Chuan 5 neighborhood from the area and population of Binh Phuoc B neighborhood.
It is known that An Phu ward (HCMC) was established on the basis of merging An Phu ward and Binh Phuoc A, Binh Phuoc B neighborhoods belonging to Binh Chuan ward, Thuan An city, former Binh Duong province. The area of An Phu ward is 16.851 km2 and the population is over 162,000 people. According to records, this is one of the localities with a large concentration of workers and laborers in HCMC.
