Ho Chi Minh City - On June 16, Tan Khanh Ward People's Committee organized a conference to deploy and collect people's opinions on the plan to arrange neighborhoods in the ward.

According to Tan Khanh Ward People's Committee, currently, the ward has a natural area of 38.273 km2 with 73,862 households, 158,762 people, divided into 25 neighborhoods.

Through actual review, it shows that the population size, number of households and management scope between neighborhoods are still different. To ensure the requirements of management, administration and organization of activities in the residential community, Tan Khanh ward is developing a project to arrange neighborhoods.

Accordingly, 21 existing neighborhoods will form 8 new neighborhoods with the form of original merger; and at the same time maintain 4 neighborhoods including Tan Hoa, Hoa Nhut, Khanh Hoi and Khanh Long because they have ensured the conditions on population size. After completing the arrangement, Tan Khanh ward will have 12 neighborhoods left.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Diem Trinh - City Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Tan Khanh ward, the neighborhood arrangement project is built on the basis of reviewing the actual population situation, household size, geographical conditions, historical formation and state management requirements in the locality.

The highest goal is to form new neighborhoods with appropriate scale, favorable for management, organizing community activities, promoting the effectiveness of the political system at the grassroots level and serving the people better and better.
