On August 4, information from Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company, at about 9:20 am on the same day, at Km12+600 of provincial road 155, passing through Trung Chai village, Ta Phin commune (Lao Cai), a positive taluy landslide occurred in the area of the BOT toll station on the road leading to Mong Sen bridge, connecting to National Highway 4D.
Through observation, a large amount of soil and rocks from the positive slope spilled into the toll station area, affecting the ground and traffic through the area.
Because soil and rocks continue to show signs of shifting, the volume of landslides cannot be statistically determined, and the risk of unsafety is still present.
Talking to reporters, a representative of Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment JSC said that immediately after the landslide occurred, the unit mobilized excavators, cars and manpower to approach the scene to clear soil and rocks.
Currently, forces are urgently overcoming the incident and will resume traffic as soon as safety conditions are ensured.
Immediately after the incident occurred, Road Traffic Police No. 1 and related units were present at the scene, cordoned off dangerous areas, planted warning signs and temporarily prevented vehicles from passing through the BOT toll station area.
At the same time, functional forces coordinate with road management units to organize traffic diversion and guide vehicles to move along the old National Highway 4D to ensure smooth and safe traffic.
Previously, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, on National Highway 4D, the section from Coc San to Sa Pa and the connecting area of Mong Sen bridge, many localized flooding points and positive taluy landslides appeared, causing difficulties for traffic.
Functional agencies recommend that people and drivers when traveling on National Highway 4D, Provincial Road 155, especially through Ta Phin commune and Mong Sen bridge, need to reduce speed, pay attention to observation, do not stop at locations at risk of landslides, and comply with the instructions of traffic control forces to ensure safety.
