Lao Cai - On the morning of August 4, the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station issued warnings of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and localized heavy rain throughout the province.

According to data from satellite images, lightning positioning and weather radar, in the early morning of the same day, strong convective clouds developed, causing showers, locally heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms in many communes and wards.

In addition, convective clouds from Tuyen Quang and Son La provinces are also moving towards Lao Cai with strong intensity, the maximum weather radar response reaches about 45 dBZ.

Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station predicts that in the next 3 hours, these cloud areas will continue to develop, causing showers, with very heavy rain in some places accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong gusts of wind. After that, the rain area tends to expand to many other areas.

The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, posing a risk of breaking and collapsing green trees, damaging houses and infrastructure works, affecting traffic and threatening people's safety.

The level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and hail is determined at level 1.

Currently, localities have evacuated 24 households with 96 people to safe places, and continue to monitor weather developments to proactively deploy response plans.

To urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and at the same time proactively respond and overcome the consequences, and soon stabilize people's lives, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, agencies, units, and localities to closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and the situation of rain, floods, landslides, tornadoes, lightning, and hail.

Focus on directing and organizing implementation with a spirit of urgency, drasticity, timeliness, and efficiency; absolutely not subjective, negligent, and not to be passive or surprised.

In addition, strictly implement the "four on-the-spot" motto; fully prepare forces, vehicles, supplies, equipment, food, drinking water, necessities, medicines and necessary conditions to be ready to respond, rescue, and overcome the consequences of natural disasters right from the first hour.
