On January 12, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and the Central Working Delegation came to inspect and work with Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee on the progress and results of implementing "Quang Trung Campaign" - a lightning speed of construction and repair of houses for people affected by storms and floods, and early rebuilding homes before the 2026 Lunar New Year.
The "no gunshots" campaign to the finish line
Reporting at the working session, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that storm No. 13 and the historic flood that occurred in November 2025 caused more than 51,800 houses to be flooded; 28,196 houses to collapse/collapse, heavily damaged; causing 5 deaths, 11 injuries; causing serious damage to socio-economic infrastructure... Total estimated damage is over 11,500 billion VND.

Implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign", Gia Lai province has completed the repair of 27,522 heavily damaged houses. Out of a total of 674 collapsed houses that need to be rebuilt, 651 houses have been completed so far; 23 houses are self-built by people, large-scale, multi-story structure, expected to be completed before January 15, on schedule as assigned by the Prime Minister.
Colonel Vu Cao Son - Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police (Ministry of Public Security) - said that, deploying the campaign, the police force is responsible for supporting the construction of 419 new houses; in Gia Lai province alone, there are 87 houses and they have been summarized and handed over to people on January 8. To date, the police force has completed the campaign ahead of schedule.

In addition to supporting housing construction, the entire police force has supported daily salaries according to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front with the amount of 120 billion VND; mobilized additional resources with the amount of 120 billion VND to support people in disaster-stricken areas.
Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - said that the total force participating in the campaign is 312,575 officers and soldiers and 10,543 vehicles, and has supported people to repair more than 63,000 damaged houses and build 619 new houses. To date, the army force has completed the entire campaign on January 10, exceeding the schedule by 5 days.
After worrying about the house, worry about Tet.
Directing at the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that "Quang Trung Campaign" is a campaign with profound humanistic meaning, showing the responsibility of the Party, State, Army and Police towards the People.

Through actual inspection of the campaign deployment in Gia Lai province, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the drastic involvement of the entire political system; the active and responsible support of the army and police forces, contributing to helping the locality basically complete the set progress.
Nearly 28,000 heavily damaged houses have been repaired so far, this is a very encouraging result. The remaining 23 houses have complex structures, the province must be determined to mobilize forces to complete them; if necessary, continue to request the army and police to support, ensuring people have a place to celebrate Spring and welcome Tet. Up to this point, it can be said that the Quang Trung Campaign has been successful," the Deputy Prime Minister directed.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, throughout the implementation process, without the response and urgent involvement of the army and police forces, the campaign could hardly be completed on schedule.
In addition, there is the total mobilization of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, levels and sectors, along with the contributions of businesses and philanthropists to create resources to help people rebuild their homes.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested Gia Lai province to use effectively and in accordance with regulations the funding source of more than 1,160 billion VND that has been allocated, including 830 billion VND from the central budget, 75 billion VND supported by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and 255 billion VND from sponsors, in which priority is given to direct support for the people.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said that the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have agreed to provide cash support of 10 million VND for each household whose house collapsed and 5 million VND for each household whose house was damaged.

This is a very humane policy. Because after rebuilding houses, people in storm and flood areas have nothing left in hand, furniture and assets in the house have all been swept away and lost. The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province needs to deploy immediately so that people can soon buy essential items to welcome Tet," the Deputy Prime Minister requested.
