Gia Lai reaches the finish line early for a miraculous campaign to rebuild homes for people

Gia Lai - The army and police forces have completed the "Quang Trung Campaign". All 674 newly built houses in the province will be handed over on January 12, reaching the finish line ahead of schedule.

On January 10, in Tuy Phuoc Dong commune, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Military Region 5 to organize the handover of 57 houses (phase 2), thereby completing the target of building 100 new houses for people in storm and flood areas of the province in the "Quang Trung Campaign".

According to Colonel Ho Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of Politics of Military Region 5, as soon as the campaign was launched, the Standing Committee of the Military Region Party Committee met, planned and organized forces to help people in provinces and cities repair and rebuild their homes after natural disasters.

From December 1, 2025, units under the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5 and the Military Command of Gia Lai province mobilized 590 teams with 8,189 officers, soldiers, and militia to participate in building 610 new houses for people in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ngai and Da Nang provinces.

With the spirit and high determination of officers and soldiers, so far the units have completed and handed over 610 new houses, and repaired 314 houses for people in storm and flood areas in localities, successfully completing the "Quang Trung Campaign".

Along with building and repairing houses for the people, units under Military Region 5 also supported the locality in cleaning up and repairing 12 village cultural houses, 21 schools; overcoming 76km of damaged canals and ditches; collecting garbage and cleaning more than 17km of rural roads.

At the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh expressed his deep gratitude to Military Region 5, Army Corps 34, Naval Region 3, Border Guard Flotilla 48 and officers and soldiers who did not hesitate to overcome difficulties, "overcome the sun and rain", and miraculously helped people in storm and flood areas of the province soon stabilize their lives.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh affirmed that the houses built by the army forces are not only built from bricks, stones, and cement but also built with the people's trust in the Party and the State. Each house is a new home, a fulcrum for people to firmly overcome difficulties and consolidate their belief in a better future.

On this occasion, the Military Region 5 Command, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Military Command presented essential gifts to households on the occasion of handing over new houses.

In Gia Lai, after more than 1 month of implementing the campaign, the whole province has completed the repair of 27,522 heavily damaged houses; 674 collapsed houses are completing the final stages, expected to be handed over to people on January 12. In which, all the houses needed to be newly built, directly supported by the army and police, have been completed.

Thus, Gia Lai has brought the "Quang Trung Campaign" to the finish line earlier than the timeline of January 15 according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
