Previously, at around 0:50 on June 25, in Ha Long City, 5 employees of the Bistro fou bar (zone 5A, Bai Chay ward) were suddenly electrocuted while cleaning in the water tank in front of the main stage of the restaurant.
As soon as the incident was discovered, people nearby immediately cut off the power, pulled the 5 people out of the water tank and called for emergency care at 115. However, when pulled out, all 5 people were in a coma.
After being treated on the spot for about 30 minutes, it was determined that 2 people had died, including T.Q.T and T.D.H (both born in 2008, residing in Duong Huy commune, Cam Pha city).
The remaining 3 people, after emergency care, regained consciousness and were taken to Bai Chay Hospital for treatment, including D.K.C (born 2008, residing in Tan Dong commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province); N.T.D (born 2009) and N.C.H (born 2008), both residing in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city.
After receiving information about the incident, the People's Committee of Ha Long City directed to visit and promptly encourage families with casualties. Up to this point, the province has supported burial fees of 20 million VND for each deceased individual and 5 million VND for each injured individual.
Information from Bai Chay Ward Police, currently, the authorities are urgently verifying and investigating to clarify the role and responsibility of the employer, related individuals and organizations and handle the case according to regulations.
Regarding this incident, to ensure the safety of people and tourists when participating in entertainment activities at service and recreation facilities in the province, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document requesting relevant departments, branches, agencies, units and localities to conduct a general inspection and review of business establishments providing entertainment services, bars, pubs and clubs from now until June 30.
The inspection process guides establishments to ensure good customs and current regulations; promptly detect and strictly handle all violations according to regulations; temporarily suspend operations if safety is not ensured to overcome until conditions are met to resume operations.
