The People's Committee of Yen Khuong commune, Thanh Hoa province has just sent a report to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Thanh Hoa province about the damage caused by thunderstorms, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and lightning on the night of July 12 in the area.
According to the report, at around 11pm on July 12, the commune experienced heavy rain with tornadoes and lightning. During the thunderstorms, lightning hit the house of Mr. Vi Van Luan (residing in Kem village, Tu Chieng village) - a poor household eligible for support to repair houses according to the province's policy.
As a result, the lightning damaged the entire system of electrical wires, lighting equipment, refrigerators, televisions, rice cookers, kitchen cabinets and many other items.
At the scene, the refrigerator, TV, wardrobe, pot of water, dishes, and wardrobe were blown away by lightning. The roof is covered with fibro cement sheets that have been blown away many times.
The flat broke 8 crossbars and some male boards, doors... damaging the entire roof of about 250 square meters of the family. The total estimated property damage is about 150 million VND.
Fortunately, that evening, Mr. Luan and his wife went to work far away, and his children and grandchildren were not at home.
People in the village said that the sound of the lightning exploded as loud as the sound of a bomb. When they arrived at Mr. Luan's house, they saw everything hanging out like an explosive bomb from inside the house.
Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of the commune directed the forces to coordinate in checking, counting and reporting to the authorities to consider supporting the family to overcome the consequences.
