On November 28, the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had decided to ban vehicles from traveling through Tran Phu bridge during the repair and overcoming of the bridge abutment landslide incident.
During the recent storms, many concrete blocks of the embankment were hit by waves and slid into the sea, creating a large erosion hole. The landslide area is more than 10m long and more than 5m wide, revealing the bridge abutment below.

Khanh Hoa Department of Construction said that large waves continuously hitting the shore washed away the reinforced material layer, cracked the bridge foot and caused strong erosion.
Upon receiving the information, the unit requested the Tran Phu bridge maintenance department to urgently clear the collapsed concrete areas and at the same time deploy measures to restore the status quo to ensure safety for the project and people traveling through the area.
The Department of Construction is also monitoring weather developments and will continue to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the bridge structure to promptly propose a handling plan when necessary.
To ensure traffic safety for the Tran Phu bridge project (Nha Trang ward), the authorities have temporarily banned trucks over 2.5 tons and passenger cars over 16 seats from traveling from Pham Van Dong street to Tran Phu street.
In the opposite direction, vehicles from the center of Nha Trang through Tran Phu bridge towards Pham Van Dong street are still allowed to move normally.
According to the traffic regulation plan, traffic diversion is implemented as follows:
Vehicles from the North to the center via Pham Van Dong Street → Tran Phu Bridge:
For trucks over 2.5 tons and passenger cars over 16 seats: Vehicles are not allowed to go straight through Tran Phu bridge but must turn right onto Ton That Tung street → 2/4 street → Xom Con street → Tran Phu street.
This route will replace the traffic direction through Tran Phu Bridge by traveling through Xom Bong Bridge.
For passenger cars with more than 16 seats to visit Ponagar Tower, the route is instructed as follows:
Pham Van Dong Street → Cu Huan Street → stops returning or welcoming guests at the 2/4 Street area in front of Ponagar Tower (or on Cu Huan Street) → continues along 2/4 Street → Ton That Tung Street → Pham Van Dong Street → parking next to Yen Sao Restaurant on Pham Van Dong Street.
According to the announcement, the time to implement traffic diversion starts from 11:30 p.m. on November 27, 2025 and will last until further notice from the Khanh Hoa Department of Construction.
