The project to renovate, embellish and reconstruct parks on both sides of the To Lich River, part of a series of 234 key projects and works, simultaneously started construction, inaugurated, and opened to technical traffic nationwide to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.
With a total investment of more than VND 4,665 billion, this is a key project, contributing to the revival of the historic river, creating a new cultural symbol of the past and present intersection for the capital.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Hung - Member of the Board of Directors of Sun Group said that in recent times, Hanoi City has made efforts to implement many drastic solutions to "revive" the To Lich River. Therefore, the project to renovate, embellish and rebuild parks on both sides of the To Lich River is an important turning point, turning the river that needs "rescue" into a vibrant urban being.
With a total investment of VND 4,665 billion, the project will reconstruct the appearance of the two banks of the river, through modern and quality theme parks, creating entertainment spaces with art trekking bridges, boat docks, scenic spots, and historical exhibition houses.
This will be a cultural symbol connecting the past and the future, contributing to positioning Hanoi as the leading cultural industrial center of the country.
"This project is not only a vivid implementation of the implementation of Decree 68, so that private enterprises have the opportunity to participate in building the country more strongly and extensively. This is also a concrete demonstration of the implementation of General Secretary To Lam's direction on heritage conservation associated with community livelihood and sustainable development.
We believe that when the route park is completed, the quality of life of the people will be improved, the position of "happiest city in Asia" that the international community has given to Hanoi will also be increasingly consolidated and upgraded," said Mr. Hung.
The project to renovate and reconstruct parks on a route of more than 13 km passing through many wards (such as Ngoc Ha, Nghia Do, Lang, Giang Vo, Cau Giay, Yen Hoa, Thanh Xuan, Dong Da, Khuong Dinh, Dinh Cong, Thanh Liet, Hoang Liet...) is not simply a matter of improving infrastructure, but also a journey to regain the beauty of heritage.
The highlight of the project is the system of impressive architectural works, designed by leading consulting units in the world, most typically: artistic pedestrian bridges, boat docks, scenic spots and historical exhibition houses will be built along the river.
These are not only urban amenities but also works of art, places to preserve and honor the traditional cultural values of Hanoi and residents on both sides of the river. The appearance of service spaces such as cafes and high-end restaurants in harmony with natural landscapes will turn this place into a new and most attractive tourism, culture and entertainment center in the capital.
The project pays special attention to greening the entire landscape axis of To Lich River. With the philosophy of harmoniously combining identity, ecology and integration, the investor will deploy the planting of a new shade tree system, bushes, grass and rich aquatic plants, helping to improve the living environment, while creating a landscape highlight to attract people and tourists to have fun and relax.
The park on both sides of the To Lich River also includes multi-functional community facilities such as a children's playground, modern parking lot, footrest steps and outdoor relaxation areas... helping to diversify entertainment activities, improve the quality of daily life of the people.
According to Mr. Ha Minh Hai - Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Organization Committee, the To Lich River is a river associated with the history of formation and development of the capital. However, in recent years, the river has been polluted by urbanization, reducing the landscape and ecological function.
Therefore, the implementation of a project to renovate, embellish and rebuild parks on both sides of the To Lich River is very necessary.
Mr. Hai said that the project has a land use scale of nearly 74 hectares, stretching over 12km through 12 inner-city wards. When completed, the project will form a continuous landscape park line, creating a space for cultural activities, entertainment for people, improving the environment, promoting the development of tourism trade and services, creating a highlight of the capital's landscape architecture.
The Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Organizing Committee requested the investor to focus resources, organize scientific construction, ensure labor safety, traffic safety and order, environmental sanitation... so that the project can be implemented effectively, ensuring progress and quality.
He also directed the city's departments, branches, and wards where the project passes through to closely coordinate, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, create favorable conditions for the construction process, and strengthen supervision of implementation in accordance with regulations.
I believe that the project to renovate and rebuild the park on the both sides of the To Lich River will be completed ahead of schedule, Mr. Ha Minh Hai emphasized.
