At the regular press conference for the fourth quarter of 2024 this afternoon (December 27), Mr. Nguyen Lam Nguyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province - said that according to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province (the unit assigned by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to preside over and coordinate the organization of the event) - this event was postponed and held from June 2 to 8, 2025.
One of the main reasons is that the event “Art for Climate - Ha Long Bay 2025” includes many cultural activities and requires many procedures and processes.
According to the original plan, the “Art for Climate - Ha Long Bay 2025” Festival, considered an international event, is expected to take place from January 13-19, 2025 in Ha Long.
However, because the “Art for Climate - Ha Long Bay 2025” Festival has many activities, while the preparation work, especially administrative procedures, takes a lot of time, the organizing unit is switching to a plan to organize scattered events from January to May 2025.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, “Art for Climate” in 2025 was expected to be held in a Middle Eastern country, but then Arsuprema - the French organizer of “Art for Climate” - chose Ha Long Bay.
Choosing Ha Long Bay is both to honor the values of art and at the same time to raise awareness of heritage conservation, join hands in responding to climate change and protecting the environment.
According to the Organizing Committee, about 80,000 people are expected to attend the event, including policy makers, local managers, artists, environmental activists, investors, students and many members of the community.
Notably, there will be more than 200 European billionaires - who have attended previous “Art for Climate” events; not to mention the expected presence of Asian billionaires. These billionaires have never been to Vietnam.
Notably, billionaires are expected to visit Ha Long Bay on super yachts. The organizers have the idea of coordinating with local authorities to arrange for billionaires’ yachts to anchor at the beautiful sandbanks at the foot of the mountains between Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay.
The organizer also proposed that the world's billionaires attending the event will participate in planting trees in an area arranged by the local government.
Previously, on September 16, 2024, at the French Embassy in Hanoi, the Announcement Ceremony of the Festival "Art for Climate - Ha Long Bay 2025" took place. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Ha Kim Ngoc and ambassadors of many countries, heads of international agencies and organizations in Vietnam, and representatives of businesses attended the ceremony.
