On February 3, Phong Thai Ward People's Committee, Hue City said that at about 5:20 pm on February 2, on provincial road 17B section passing Vinh Huong residential group, Phong Thai ward, Hue City, a serious traffic accident occurred, killing two young children.
According to initial information, driver Le Van S. (born 1995, residing in the residential group of Hop Ward, Phong Thai Ward, Hue City) was driving a tractor carrying acacia trees on provincial road 17B when it collided with a two-wheeled motorbike under 50 cm3, license plate 75AA-060.xx.
The motorbike was driven by Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhat L. (born 1998), carrying two young children behind, Le Thi Phuong U. (born 2016, 4th grade student of Huong Lam Primary School) and Le Thi Phuong C. (born 2018, 2nd grade student of Huong Lam Primary School), Phong Thai ward.
The consequence of the accident was that two children U. and C. were seriously injured, taken to the emergency room but did not survive and died at the hospital. The family has completed procedures to bring the children's bodies home for funeral arrangements.
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
