We will not have 2 slots to participate in the Asian International Volleyball Championship (AVC Cup) this year. From 2023 to 2025, Vietnamese volleyball will have 1 male slot and 1 female slot to compete in the AVC Cup.
This is a tournament that was previously organized by the Asian Volleyball Federation under the name AVC Challenge Cup and then AVC Nations Cup.
From 2026, the tournament will be held under the new name AVC Cup. The Asian Volleyball Federation officially announced information on February 2nd, the women's event will be held in the Philippines from June 6th to June 14th.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the defending champion, so they are officially qualified to participate. The remaining teams include the Philippines (host), Australia, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Taiwan (China) and Uzbekistan.
As they continue to be the official team participating in the tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will aim for the opportunity to defend their No. 1 position.
The men's AVC Cup 2026 event does not include the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team. The Asian Volleyball Federation announced the list of participating teams as India, Australia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Chinese Taipei and Thailand. This tournament is held in India from June 20 to June 28.
The competition format and draw for the AVC Cup 2026 group stage for men and women will be announced by the Asian Volleyball Federation in the near future.
