According to information from functional agencies, in the early morning of February 27, a serious traffic accident occurred on National Highway 1 section passing through Dong Ngau village, Cai Kinh commune, Lang Son province, killing one person and injuring many others.
According to initial information, at about 5 am on the same day, Mr. Ngo Manh Thin (born 1976, residing in Nghe An) was driving a 44-seat sleeper passenger car with license plate 37G-001.41 traveling on National Highway 1 in the direction of Hanoi - Lang Son.
There were about 9-10 passengers on the bus at this time.
When reaching Km76, the section passing through Dong Ngau village, the passenger car collided with a 16-seater passenger car with license plate 29B-113. 77 driven by Mr. Nguyen Trung Dong (born 1984, residing in Pac Cu village, Thuy Hung commune, Lang Son), traveling in the opposite direction.
There were about 6 passengers on the 16-seater car.
The strong collision caused the front of the two vehicles to be deformed and heavily damaged. Many debris was thrown onto the road surface, and traffic through the area was affected in a short time.
As a result, 5 people on the 16-seater passenger car were injured and taken to Huu Lung Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Notably, Ms. Nguyen Thi P. (born 1987, residing in Pac Cu village, Thuy Hung commune, Lang Son), sitting in the passenger seat in front of the 16-seater car, died at the scene. It is known that Ms. Phuong is the wife of driver Nguyen Trung Dong.
Fortunately, the passengers on the 44-seat sleeper bus were not injured after the collision.
Immediately after receiving the news, functional forces were present at the scene to divert traffic, organize rescue and conduct examination and investigation to clarify the cause of the accident.
The section of Km76 National Highway 1 through Cai Kinh commune is a road with high traffic density, especially in the early morning and early morning hours.
