On December 10, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Binh province answered questions at the 19th Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council.
Many voters are concerned about the issue of support payments for fishermen going offshore to fish and operate in far-off waters. In the past, implementing Decision 48 of the Prime Minister on a number of policies to encourage and support exploitation, aquaculture and seafood exploitation services in far-off waters, after each trip to the sea, people had to go directly to the Department of Fisheries to complete procedures to receive payment. This resulted in additional time and travel expenses for people.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Quoc Tuan said that according to regulations, when submitting documents to the Department of Fisheries, fishermen can choose to submit documents directly to the Department of Fisheries or via postal service.
In case of direct submission, the application can be submitted for each voyage or submitted for all voyages at once (each ship is supported for a maximum of 4 voyages/year) to save time and travel costs.
According to regulations, to receive support, organizations, individuals and households must, after completing a sea trip, prepare a dossier according to regulations and send it to the Department of Fisheries for synthesis and transfer to the provincial appraisal team for appraisal according to regulations.
In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to direct the Department of Fisheries to coordinate with localities to strengthen propaganda and guidance on the two methods of submitting documents as above to create favorable conditions and save time and travel costs for fishermen.
