Not just a job, it's a source of pride
Recorded by the reporter at noon on August 5, near Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi City), the image of workers constructing sidewalks, renovating flower beds... appeared constantly regardless of early morning or midday. Everyone is busy and urgent in the urgent construction atmosphere to serve the approaching National Day on September 2.
Under the burning sunlight, Mr. Ly Van Hong - a worker on the sidewalk paving construction team - shared: "These days, we work from 7am to late at night. At noon, the sun was really hot, but we still had to try to keep up with the progress. National Day September 2 is a big occasion, I am also proud to contribute to beautifying the streets of the capital".
Mr. Hong said that the workers' team not only repaired the sidewalk, but also renovated flower beds, cleaned the landscape... "The weather was so hot, waiting until I finished work, seeing my results on each street, I saw that I could also contribute a small part to the festive atmosphere of National Day", Mr. Hong said.

Sharing the same feelings, Mr. Hoang Van Hung (from Tuyen Quang province) - a worker in the sidewalk paving construction team on Doc Lap street - shared: "Although the weather in the past few days has been very hot, the workers are still working enthusiastically to complete the items soon. For me, it is an honor to contribute to beautifying the capital before the National Day holiday. Not only for salary, but for love for the country.
Keeping workers safe
Not only speeding up progress, ensuring labor safety is also focused on in harsh weather conditions.
Mr. Le Xuan Lam - technical staff at the sidewalk renovation project on Doc Lap Street - shared: "In addition to the progress factor, construction safety under hot weather is something the unit is particularly interested in. We have fully equipped with protective gear, provided mineral water, and arranged appropriate breaks to help workers maintain their health in harsh working conditions.
"The closer to the holiday, the more workload increases. Some days the outside temperature reaches more than 40 degrees Celsius, but the brothers still coordinate smoothly and concentrate highly to ensure the work is completed on schedule, said Mr. Lam.

Mr. Lam also shared: Working in harsh weather makes it very tiring and easy to lose water, but we all comply with safety regulations and have full protection. Just think about contributing to making the capital more beautiful during the upcoming National Day holiday.
