These days, regularly from dawn, trains of boats follow each other to Tinh Ky port after a night of fishing about 10 - 20 nautical miles from the shore. Each boat hold is full of baskets of fresh anchovies.
Currently, the price of anchovies ranges from 15 - 20 thousand VND/kg, helping many fishermen earn millions of VND in income after each sea trip.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, in Tinh Khe commune, excitedly shared that for about 5-6 days now, every meal the ship has had a bumper meal of anchovies. The output depends on each ship, if there is a lot, it harvests from 14-16 tons, if there is a little harvest, it also yields 2-3 tons. Fish appear all in the coastal sea area, so fishermen are all excited.
Bumper anchovy not only brings joy to fishermen directly going offshore but also creates jobs and stable income for thousands of fishery logistics workers.
As soon as the ship docked, hundreds of local women were on duty to sort, weigh, and transport fish to refrigerated trucks or to steaming stoves. This job brings in an income of 200 - 300 thousand VND/person/day.

Ms. Pham Thi Nhanh, a logistics worker in Tinh Khe commune, said: "Every time a ship enters the wharf, it takes about 30-40 people to work continuously to be on time for the ship to continue going to sea. Thanks to the anchovy season, we sisters have stable daily jobs and earn extra income to cover our lives.
According to the Tinh Ky Fishing Port Management Board, on average, there are over 30 fishing boats docking at the port each day to sell anchovies, with an average output of 2-3 tons/boat/trip. To ensure that seafood circulation takes place quickly, orderly and conveniently, the unit has arranged forces to be on duty throughout.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Quang, Head of Tinh Ky Fishing Port Management Board, informed that all officials and employees of the unit are increasing 24/24 hour duty to arrange ships and boats to anchor neatly, regulate vehicles and wharves, creating the most favorable conditions for fishermen and traders to trade.
Anchovies after being brought ashore are consumed very strongly in many forms such as being sold fresh directly at markets, steamed, dried for export and used as raw materials for traditional fish sauce processing facilities. All caught anchovies are consumed immediately on the same day, helping fishermen feel secure to go offshore and stick to the sea.
