On the evening of April 21, 2025, Patrol Team No. 3, Fishing Guard Ship with registration number KN 508 of the Department of Fisheries Control of Region V under the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, during the patrol and control in the Southwest sea, received a report requesting urgent rescue from fishermen at sea.
Accordingly, on the evening of April 21, fisherman Ha Viet Toan (born in 1999, residing in Vinh Bao ward, Rach Gia city, Kien Giang) was fishing on the boat KG-956xx-TS when an incident occurred.
When this fisherman was collecting the net, he was suddenly hit by a chain that was seriously injured in the head, bleeding. Immediately after receiving the notice, the delegation of the Fisheries Sub -Department of Region V operating in the southwestern waters mobilized the ships to move and approach the fishing vessel to bring fishermen in distress on first aid.
Fishermen were examined for injuries and provided with health care, while the boat also moved continuously throughout the night to take fishermen to An Thoi Port. At around 8:00 a.m. on April 22, 2025, the ship of the Fisheries Control Sub-Department V docked at An Thoi port and handed over the fishermen to the family and the Rescue Team of Phu Quoc City Medical Center for treatment.
