Specifically, during the process of performing patrol, control, and law enforcement duties in the Southwest sea, the Forward Command of Coast Guard Region 4 received a report from fishing boat KG-1320-TS. At about 5:00 a.m. on March 15, the boat discovered 2 fishermen on the boat missing.
After receiving a report from the Forward Command, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command quickly directed ships on duty on the ground to increase observation, organize searches, and be ready to support rescue.
At 5:00 p.m. on March 15, the KN-203 boat discovered and rescued 2 fishermen drifting at sea. After that, the Military Medical Officers on the ship were sent to conduct an inspection, provide health care, reassure the spirit, and encourage the fishermen in distress.
Through verification, the two fishermen, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Giau (born in 1985) and Huynh Chi Thao (born in 1995), both have permanent addresses in Dong Thap and are fishermen working on fishing boat KG-1320-TS that fell into the sea.
Currently, the health and spirit of the two fishermen have stabilized. The Coast Guard Region 4 Command has directed the authorities to clarify the cause and contact the ship owner and captain of the KG-1320-TS ship to carry out the steps to receive the two crew members according to regulations.
