On the morning of January 7, Long Hoa Ward Police said they are coordinating with Tay Ninh Provincial Police to investigate and clarify a gasoline fire suspected to be due to emotional conflicts that occurred in the area, causing two deaths.
According to information from the police agency, the two victims in the case are Mr. N.M.N. (born in 1969) and Ms. N.K.D. (born in 1974, both residing in Long Hoa ward). After being taken to Tay Ninh Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment by people in critical condition, both did not survive due to severe burns.
Previously, at about 6:30 PM on January 6, Long Hoa Ward Police received a report from people about a fire occurring at a house in alley 13, Truong Dong street, Truong Duc neighborhood.
Through initial verification, functional agencies determined that Mr. N. used gasoline to pour on Ms. D. and then set her on fire. The incident caused both to be severely burned and were quickly taken to the emergency room by people.
Immediately after the incident occurred, Long Hoa Ward Police coordinated with professional units to conduct scene examination, take witness statements and collect relevant documents to serve the investigation.
Currently, the specific cause of the fire is still being further clarified and handled by functional agencies of Tay Ninh province according to the provisions of law.
