VTV confirms stopping production of Tao Quan 2026, switching to a new format program called "Spring Square" broadcast on New Year's Eve.
Talking to Lao Dong reporters about Tao Quan stopping production, artist Van Dung said: "In the journey of more than 20 years on air, Tao Quan once stopped production for 1 year, then returned. Tao Quan also changed format. I have been attached to the program throughout a long journey, from youth to now, I have witnessed many opinions, controversies, praise and criticism, and even sources predicting the program will stop production.
From 8 years ago, there were many sources of information predicting that Tao Quan would stop and that it would be the final program.
This year, I knew the information that Tao Quan would be stopped, but no one has confirmed that the program will be "closed" forever. Maybe this year it will be stopped, and some year Tao Quan will return".
According to artist Van Dung, amidst the absence of emotions, she is still very happy, because Tao Quan is of interest to the audience.
The audience debates, that is, the audience is interested. That always makes our Tao Quan production team very happy. After more than 20 years on air, having heard many opinions, we always accept them with a happy and joyful attitude. Because, when the audience still praises - criticizes, still debates, still cares about whether to produce or stop - that is, Tao Quan has a place in the hearts of the audience" - Van Dung said.
Van Dung affirmed that if there is really one last Tao Quan season, then it stops broadcasting permanently, she will have a lot of emotions.

Artist Van Dung along with People's Artist Tu Long, Meritorious Artist Quang Thang, People's Artist Quoc Khanh, People's Artist Xuan Bac... have had a long journey attached to Tao Quan. As People's Artist Tu Long said, "We have been together throughout our brilliant youth.
Tao Quan became our youth. Each of us has grown up together, together making our mark from Tao Quan.
After more than 20 years of accompanying in Tao Quan, Van Dung shared that the artists and the entire production crew have been attached to each other like a family.
Recently, I still met Mr. Quoc Khanh. He is healthy, cheerful, talks and laughs very excitedly (laughs). I also occasionally meet Tu Long, Xuan Bac, Quang Thang. We are as close as ever. Our lives, circumstances, and work may change, but the feelings we have for each other will never change. Meeting each other is still like children, arguing fiercely (laughs)" - Van Dung recounted.
Currently, artist Van Dung is busy with the filming schedule of the movie "Quy nhap trang 2". In recent years, Van Dung has shifted to filmmaking, she has a predestined relationship with a series of horror works such as: Quy cau, Quy nhap trang 1... Both of these films achieved revenue of over 100 billion VND. Winning big in revenue, the producer of Quy nhap trang continued with part 2 and invited Van Dung to participate.
Van Dung comes from the stage, she belongs to the Youth Theater. From the stage, Van Dung has ventured into many fields, from television to cinema.
Mentioning the predestined relationship with horror movies that achieve hundreds of billions of VND in revenue, Van Dung humorously said, "I was also surprised when I received invitations from film directors. I don't understand why, they are all horror movies. Is it possible that I have the strength of... not needing makeup? People need to be made up to act in horror movies, I don't need (laughs)".
Participating in film works that are big in revenue, but Van Dung said that she does not place much expectation before each decision, only always strives her best when accepting roles, whether they are big or small roles.
Expectations can hurt me, when things don't go as planned. I want to avoid those hurts for myself. A mechanism to protect myself. I only know that accepting any role or film project, I will try my best" - Van Dung shared.
