On September 18, Mr. Ho Hoang Anh Kha (Lam Vien - Da Lat ward, Lam Dong) handed over the rare pangolin to the Da Lat Forest Protection Department. This unit has received care and monitoring before bringing them back to nature according to regulations.
According to Mr. Kha, at around 11:30 p.m. on September 17, he returned home from work and saw a strange animal in his family's car. Mr. Kha immediately filmed and took photos to send to the authorities in the ward for guidance.

Because it was dark at night and it was not convenient to hand over to the forest rangers, he and his family put the pangolin in a basket and brought it into the living room to turn on the canh canh. As soon as it was morning, he immediately contacted the Lam Vien - Da Lat Ward Police Department to be assisted in handing over the pangolin.
"My family and I have to stay vigil, partly because we are afraid that the pangolin will be dangerous to the road, partly because we are also worried about the responsibility for keeping rare animals," said Mr. Kha.

According to the Da Lat Forest Protection Department, the pangolin handed over by Mr. Kha weighed 3kg, a Java pangolin (Manis javanica) belonging to group IB. This is a rare wild animal that is threatened with extinction, prioritized for protection and strictly prohibited from exploitation, use, trading and consumption in any form.
